Joshua, 26, became the IBF heavyweight champion
with a second-round knockout of Charles Martin at London's O2 Arena
this month and could face Tyson Fury soon as Fury wants to take the IBF
title from Joshua.
Fury, known for
his social media outbursts towards rivals posted a photo-shopped image
of Joshua on Twitter, carrying an 'F' sign while wearing a T-shirt with a
picture of Fury following his win against Wladimir Klitschko.
The
27-year-old WBA, WBO, IBO and The Ring magazine heavyweight champion
captioned the snap: 'Who I think I found myself a cheerleader, she is
always right there when I need her,' misquoting the lyrics to
hit-song 'Cheerleader' by OMI.Fury feels Joshua's decision to defend his IBF crown against American Dominic Breazeale is because he is scared of losing, hence his choice of a 'soft' target.
It's
not the first time the two fighters have had a go at each other. Joshua
recently called Fury 'a fat boy' to which Fury replied 'We all do
weights obviously because we are heavyweights, but I am never going to
be Mr Universe and I don't need to be. I am a fighting man. That's
what I am. I am a natural fighter. I am the Gipsy King. I don't need
muscles - and you can't put muscles on your chin. I've beaten plenty of
six packs, don't worry about that.'
A possible World
title fight between the pair could occur later on this year if their
social media goading continues and promoters feel fans will like to see a
fight between the pair.
