Sidi, who was represented by South- East zonal NEMA Coordinator, Mr.
Martin Ejike Udeinya, said the gesture was in line with the agency’s
mandate of responding to disaster affected communities in the country.
"We are here today to present relief materials to Nimbo community after carrying out a comprehensive assessment of the damage done to the area" he said.
He disclosed that a "five-man committee made up of NEMA, Red Cross, NSCDC, ESEMA and the police have been set up to ensure judicious and transparent distribution of the items to the real victims"Some of the materials donated to the community includes, food stuff such as rice, beans, garri, drugs, toiletries, foams, blankets, plastics buckets, plates amongst other items.
NEMA, was accompanied on the visit by Red Cross and Enugu state emergency management Agency and ESEMA officials.
