South African Ontlametse Phalatse is the first black child with
progeria, a rare premature aging disease. The small girl with big
personality is one of only 80 children in the world diagnosed with the
condition. She turned 17 this month even though doctors didn't expect
her to live past the age of 13
Phalatse attended her school matric few daysdays ago and shared lovely
photos on Instagram.
"Thanks to everyone who made this day a success. I look awesome" she wrote.

Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome, commonly known as progeria, is an
extremely rare condition wher a child ages eight times faster than
normal and hence has a much shorter life span than children their age.
Such children usually die from a heart attack or stroke.
